Sangeetha Saahithya Saaram and Malayalam Monday

Hi All! 

After a long time, penning down something in my blog, this time about 2 series started on my Channel.

1. Sangeetha Saahithya Saaram - SSS 

This is a unique series focusing on explaining the meanings of various popular Sanskrit, Telugu, Tamil Krithis in English to help all the music learners, Rasikas and layman listeners of Carnatic Music to know the meaning of Carnatic Krithis and sing with Saahithya Bhaavam while presenting the compositions, even if they do not know the Ragam.  This was a long thought-of project which started only this year in April as a Monthly series to start with, and hoping to make it a weekly or fortnightly one with GOD'S GRACE, if I receive more responses from the audience. I have uploaded 2 episodes as of May 2023. Pls do share with other friends interested in Carnatic Music to share the importance of meanings of Carnatic Krithis.

2. Malayalam Mondays - MM - മലയാളം  മണ്ഡേസ് 

This is a relatively new series, which I am m attempting to continue. As I watch a lot of malayalam movies, I started listening to some songs and liked them, and when I started to delve deeper  I found a whole bunch of beautiful Malayalam film songs composed by various music directors over the years. I really need to play these classics and then with GOD'S GRACE an idea popped 💡 in my mind, to start a series of Malayalam songs on different instruments - Malayalam Mondays! I have released 2 videos as of today (29.05.2023). Don't know how long I can continue it every monday, but hoping to post many more songs in this series, with GOD'S GRACE.  Edit - (30.09.2023) I completed the series with 7 videos on Veena, Flute, Violin, Keyboard, Mandolin! 🙏 Picture below!

Today I wish to share my casual thoughts on Swaraksharam, which I believe is a beautiful component of Carnatic Music.  The following is based on my learnings from my Gurus and my learnings by listening to Lec-dems and concerts of artists on the Web. It is the coming together of the same Swaram and Aksharam in a phrase of a composition. For example, taking a popular Krithi of Muthuswami Dikshithar, Maha Ganapathim. In the Pallavi, Mahaganapathim, The first phrase itself is MaPa Ma for which Sahithyam has been set as Maha Ganapathim. So the first letter is a Swaraksharam, with Ma being the same in Swaram and Sahithyam.  Likewise, in Shri.
